I am back

I am returning to this blog as I had taken a hiatus. I need to write these things as my own personal therapy for dealing with my daughter and her instense and immense special needs due to her severe autism. She is five years old and has been diagnosed for over 3 years. We have done special diets, alternative therapies that costs tens of thousands of dollars, and massive supplementation of vitamins. She has been in a special preschool for 3 years focusing on ABA therapy as well as speech and OT. She has improved slightly but still has profound needs. She can't communicate other than a few learned words or phrases. She is violent and aggressive. She has become increasingly violent in the last year. She is now a large child and can seriously hurt herself and others. The stress we are under as a family is incredible. I work in a high stress, executive level position and I can honestly say that the stress I have at work does not come close to the stress I have when I am home. My wife and I have not been on a date in 5 years. We cannot take family trips to the movies, or a hike, or for a gathering of friends. Something has to give soon or we are all going to implode.
